Explore the magnificent south west region of Western Australia with its stunning wildflowers, towering Karri Forests and awe-inspiring coastline.  Visit Rottnest Island, the Margaret River region and Busselton Jetty, Jewel Cave, Hamlin Bay, famous for its friendly stingrays, the Gloucester Tree, the Valley of the Giants, Cape Leeuwin, Wave Rock.  Travel the Tin Horse Highway (definitely a laughing matter) to the Pinnacles and Kalbarri.  Watch the dolphin feeding at Monkey Mia and join the search for dazzling displays of wildflowers. DAY 1  BRISBANE – PERTH      D

Thursday, 29th August:  Passengers fly to Perth today.  On arrival in Perth be transferred to your accommodation.  Tonight enjoy a welcome dinner with your travelling companions.  Two night stay Comfort Hotel Perth City     

DAY 2  ROTTNEST ISLAND      BD

Friday, 30th August:  Explore the beauty and tranquility of Rottnest from the comfort and relaxation of an air-conditioned coach.  Our tour stops at key vantage points around the island, where passengers can hop off the coach and stretch their legs as they soak up some of Rottnest’s world-famous views. Chances are, while you’re there, you’re going to meet a quokka or two.

DAY 3  PERTH – MARGARET RIVER      BD

Saturday, 31st August:  Departing Perth arrive at Busselton Jetty, the longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere.  Enjoy a train ride to the end of the jetty for a guided tour of the Underwater Observatory.  Leaving Busselton, make our way to Canal Rocks for spectacular seascape views across the Indian Ocean, then on to Margaret River Chocolate Company to tantalise the taste buds.  Stay at ‘Stay Margaret River’     

DAY 4  MARGARET RIVER – PEMBERTON      BD

Sunday, 1st September:  Travel to Hamlin Bay this morning for a photo stop and a chance to interact with the stingrays if they are about.  On to Jewel Cave for morning tea and a guided tour of this magnificent cave.  Next, enjoy a guided tour of Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse.  Cape Leeuwin is one of only two places in the world where two great oceans meet.  After lunch in Augusta (own expense) make our way to the Gloucester NP to view the Gloucester Tree, a magnificent Karri housing the world’s highest fire lookout.  Stay Best Western Pemberton Hotel     

DAY 5  PEMBERTON – ALBANY      BLD

Monday, 2nd September:  Leaving Pemberton, travel to the Valley of the Giants.  Walk along the Treetop Walk taking you through spectacular Tingle trees, 40 metres above the forest floor.  After lunch at the Denmark Tavern continue on to Albany where we visit the Torndirrup NP to capture breathtaking coastal formations including the ‘Blowholes’, ‘Natural Bridge’ and ‘The Gap’, a huge granite bridge-like suspension. Stay Ace Accommodation     

DAY 6  ALBANY – WAVE ROCK      BMLD

Tuesday, 3rd September:  The rugged beauty of the Stirling Ranges NP awaits us as we journey northward through the botanic reserve abounding with wildflowers.  On arrival enjoy a guided tour of the unusual Wave Rock.  Also, see Hippo’s Yawn, a giant yawning mouth cast in solid rock.  Stay Wave Rock Motel     

DAY 7  WAVE ROCK – CERVANTES      BMD

Wednesday, 4th September:  Farewelling our hosts, get the cameras ready as we travel the Tin Horse Highway which offers an array of seriously unique equine sights and experiences along the way. After lunch in York (own expense) continue on to Cervantes.  Stay Pinnacles Edge Resort     

DAY 8  CERVANTES – KALBARRI      BMLD

Thursday, 5th September:  This morning our journey takes us to Nambung NP, home of the fascinating Pinnacles.  Made from limestone, these pillars provide an almost eerie landscape.  Continue north through beautiful Jurien Bay to Port Denison for lunch then on to Kalbarri.  Stay Kalbarri Edge Resort      

DAY 9  KALBARRI – MONKEY MIA      BLD

Friday, 6th September:  Begin our day with some sightseeing at the Kalbarri NP.  Stop at Hawk’s Head Lookout for a spectacular view of the Murchison River Gorge.  Continue on to World Heritage-listed Shark Bay where we pause for lunch at the Hamelin Pool Tearooms followed by a visit to the Stromatolites, the world’s oldest living organisms.  Next, visit Shell Beach, one of only two such places in the world, formed from billions of shells up to ten metres deep. Travel through Denham to arrive at our destination.  Stay Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort     

DAY 10  MONKEY MIA – GERALDTON      BD

Saturday, 7th September:  This morning get a close-up view as wild Bottlenosed Dolphins venture close to shore (as dolphins are wild, their appearance can’t be guaranteed).  Stop at the Overlander Roadhouse for lunch (own expense).   Continue on to Geraldton Information Centre before arriving at our motel.  Two night stay Ocean Centre Hotel     

DAY 11  WILDFLOWER & ART DRIVE      BMLD

Sunday, 8th September:  A leisurely sightseeing day today as we follow the Art Drive in search of wildflowers, especially the wreath flower.  On our way to Mullewa, visit some of the 22 various art installations en route, each depicting farm life, wildflowers and Aboriginal culture.  Leaving Mullewa, make our way to Coalseam Conservation Park before rejoining the Art Drive.

 DAY 12  GERALDTON – PERTH      BMLD

Monday, 9th September:  Begin our day with a visit to the HMAS Sydney II Memorial which commemorates the greatest single tragedy in Australian Naval History, and dedicated to the lost crew and their families.  Next, a photo stop at the Leaning Trees of Greenough, then on to Perth.  Two night stay Comfort Hotel Perth City     

DAY 13  PERTH FREE DAY      BD

Tuesday, 10th September:  Enjoy a free day in Perth today.

DAY 14  PERTH – HOME      B

Wednesday, 11th September:  Passengers fly to Brisbane today.  Arrangements have been made for transfer to Perth Airport for your return flight to Brisbane.  Passengers continuing on tour enjoy a free day.
