Along with a nice cuppa why not sample some fine olive products. Next, make our way to Schaeffer House which houses the Clarence River Historical Society’s display of beautiful china, glassware and furniture presented to the society over the years. The quality of the exhibits and the magnificent building ensure a most satisfying experience. Board your coach for transfer to Tucabia for a guided tour, lunch and entertainment at the Squatters Rest Private Museum. Making our way back to Grafton visit the village of Ulmarra. It is a town classified by the National Trust as one of the finest examples of a 19th century river port in Australia. Return to our motel for a well earned rest before heading to town for dinner at the Crown Hotel and watch the fireworks.

DAY 3 JACARANDA FESTIVAL DAY          BD

Saturday, 4th November: This morning we head to the TAFE Campus to explore the fantastic markets with lots of interesting market stalls, live music and food before a town tour to witness firsthand the superb Jacaranda trees. Grafton is emblazoned in colour this time of year with over 5,000 Jacarandas making a canopy of lilac clouds and a soft carpet of purple. Travel to Tullymorgan for lunch and to learn all about ostrich farming at Glen Ian Ostrich & Emu Farm. After returning to Grafton enjoy the whirl of the bagpipes while the Scottish, Irish and Highland dancers perform in the Market Square. DAY 5 O’REILLY’S FREE DAY          BLD

Monday, 6th November: Before breakfast, hundreds of Crimson Rosellas, King Parrots and other opportunists are fed on the lawns outside the restaurant. It’s a unique experience to have one of these brilliantly coloured birds land on your wrist to eat from your hand. After breakfast, read the daily program and with so much to do and enjoy, you’ll have a good appetite, so scrumptious meals are provided. Evening activities occur ranging from spotlighting, viewing a stunning wildlife film or perhaps a visit to the glow-worms.

DAY 6 O’REILLY’S FREE DAY          BLD

Tuesday, 7th November: Wake up to the serene sounds of bush creatures. Perhaps a Satin Bowerbird’s bower will be a discovery. After breakfast you’ll have the day to select activities from the daily program. Perhaps a morning excursion, a 4WD adventure or just a walk along the canopy treetop walkway – the choice is yours.

DAY 7 LAMINGTON NP – HOME          BL

Wednesday, 8th November: After a leisurely breakfast say goodbye to our hosts and make our way via Beaudesert to visit the Scenic Rim Robotic Dairy for a dairy tour with a difference. The tour gives you a fantastic snapshot of dairy farming through the generations. You’ll be fascinated by the robotic milking system and you’ll love seeing how the cows take to it so easily. Continuing our journey stop at the Kooroomba Vineyard and Lavender Farm for lunch and a wine tasting with time to browse the wonderful lavender products on sale.
