Join us as we travel to Tumut for the Lanterns on the Lagoon and Sculptures in the Park Spring Festival. The sculptures are created from recycled and natural materials and are displayed in Pioneer Park by the Tumut River. The magnificent trees and beautiful Lagoon provide a serene backdrop for the works of art. Lanterns are released onto the Lagoon just prior to dusk and become a spectacular display of light and reflection. In Canberra, be enticed by Floriade’s impressive garden displays added to many other ACT highlights including Tulip Top Gardens, Cockington Green Miniature Gardens, Parliament House and the Australian War Memorial. Heading north visit Bowral’s Tulip Time Festival. Other highlights include: Tumut Broom Factory, Pretty Parrot Distillery, Australian Reptile Park, Ricardoes Tomatoes & Strawberries, Butterfly House and the Clog Barn. A wonderful Springtime getaway.

DAY 1 HERVEY BAY – GOONDIWINDI D
Wednesday, 15th September: With Wide Bay passengers onboard begin our journey south, picking up passengers joining the tour at designated locations enroute, we make our way to Brisbane Coach Terminal to welcome aboard our Brisbane and Gold Coast passengers. Travel to Toowoomba for lunch then on to Goondiwindi Visitors Centre & Gunsynd Museum before settling into our motel. Stay Jolly Swagman Motor Inn.
DAY 2 GOONDIWINDI – DUBBO BMLD
Thursday, 16th September: Continue south to Coonabarabran Bowling Club for lunch then on the Western Plains Cultural Centre in Dubbo. The Centre is a state of the art facility offering art and cultural exhibitions and a cafe. After an interesting visit make our way to our accommodation. Stay Golden West Motor Inn.
DAY 3 DUBBO – TUMUT BMLD
Friday, 17th September: Our first stop this morning is at Eugowra, the village of murals. After a delicious morning tea supplied by your coach crew, take a wander through town to view the amazing murals then continue on to Young for lunch. After lunch, visit the Tumut Broom Factory where brooms are still handmade from 100% millet and quality Tasmanian oak handles. Two night stay Tumut Valley Motel.
DAY 4 LANTERNS ON THE LAGOON FESTIVAL & TUMUT SIGHTSEEING BML
Saturday, 18th September: Start our morning with a sightseeing drive to Blowering Reservoir followed by lunch at the Oriental Hotel. After lunch, enjoy a tasting at the Pretty Parrot Distillery an award-winning distillery offering Australian and traditional botanical gins and liqueurs, followed by a visit to the Tumut Valley Information Centre. Mid-afternoon, the highlight of our stay, the Lanterns on the Lagoon and Sculptures in the Park Festival. The festival features a sculpture competition, the sculptures being created from recycled and natural materials, are displayed in Pioneer Park by the Tumut River, and the magnificent trees and beautiful lagoon provide a serene backdrop for the works of art. During the evening the sculptures are enhanced by solar lighting giving them another dimension. Lanterns are released onto the lagoon just prior to dusk and become a spectacular display of light and reflection. Tonight, purchase your dinner from a variety of gourmet food and drink stalls.
DAY 5 TUMUT – CANBERRA BD
Sunday, 19th September: Departing Tumut make our way to Canberra for the chief attraction of our day – Canberra Floriade. The massive springtime displays at Commonwealth Park provide an unrivalled spectacle of fragrance and colour. Next, ascend Black Mountain to the Telstra Tower for a 360˚ view of Canberra. Finish our day with a visit to the Australian War Memorial featuring many emotion-stirring displays and tributes. Time to watch the closing ceremony before settling into our accommodation. DAY 6 CANBERRA SIGHTSEEING BD
Monday, 20th September: Start our day with a drive-by tour of Canberra’s embassies and High Commissions before a guided tour of Parliament House. Next, wander through the magnificent Tulip Top Gardens, a private garden only open to the public at Floriade time. On to the miniature garden villages of Cockington Green before returning to our motel
DAY 7 CANBERRA – RAYMOND TERRACE BLD
Tuesday, 21st September: A delightful day of sightseeing today beginning with the beautiful Corbett Gardens awash with blooms for Bowral’s Tulip Time Festival. Next, an unforgettable experience at the Australian Reptile Park, home to exotic reptiles from around the world and a wide variety of Australian native animals. Onward to our overnight accommodation. DAY 8 RAYMOND TERRACE – COFFS HARBOUR BMLD
Wednesday, 22nd September: Our first stop this morning is Ricardoes Tomatoes and Strawberries for morning tea, then on to Butterfly House for lunch and a guided tour. Stroll amongst hundreds of live Australian butterflies and share the world of butterflies as they fly, court, mate, sip nectar or rest in the light. Next, visit a little piece of Holland at the Clog Barn. Stroll through the miniature village, browse through the gift shop or watch a clog making demonstration. Stay Opal Cove Resort.
DAY 9 COFFS HARBOUR – HOME BM
Thursday, 23rd September: Spend our last morning tea together at New Italy Cafe & Museum before heading back to Queensland. Arrive in Brisbane mid-afternoon and in the Wide Bay early evening.
