Join us for a fun-filled Easter break as we travel to the historic gold town of Nundle for the Easter Go for Gold Festival.  Immerse yourself in the celebration of food and culture at the second largest annual festival in northern inland NSW.  For the Country Music fans, enjoy a wonderful day of exploring Australia’s ‘Country Music Capital’ Tamworth.  Highlights include the Galaxy of Stars Museum which features wax figures of Australia’s famous country music stars and display boards that tell their story, The National Guitar Museum, and the Australian Country Music Hall of Fame & Walk a Country Mile.  On the way home, delight in the magnificent Waterfall Way, one of the most scenic drives in the World.  You will be sure to take pleasure in this spectacular tour.

Thursday, 14th April:  An early start for passengers joining between Hervey Bay and Caloundra.  Brisbane and Gold Coast passengers board at Brisbane Coach Terminal.  Travel west to Warwick for lunch (own expense), then cross the border for an afternoon break at Tenterfield, then on to the Celtic town of Glen Innes for our overnight stop.  Stay Rest Point Motor Inn


Friday, 15th April:  Start our day with a visit to the Australian Standing Stones, a national monument to Celtic people, past and present.  Continuing, travel the Fossickers Way, one of the oldest and most picturesque touring routes in New South Wales as we make our way to Inverell Transport Museum.  The museum is a ‘gem’ of a different kind with its great exhibition of vintage, veteran and classic vehicles including a 1906 Dayton, believed to be the only one left worldwide.  Next, wander through the grounds of the Inverell Pioneer Village with its collection of authentic historic buildings and homes dating back to 1841.  In Bingara, drive through the Fruits of Remembrance, an avenue of orange trees that stand as a unique living memorial to the fallen in WWI & WWII.  Arrive in Tamworth late afternoon.  Three night stay Tamworth Motor Inn


Saturday, 16th April:  The Nundle Go for Gold Chinese Easter Festival is a celebration of Nundle’s gold field’s history and the Chinese and European miners that helped form the town in the mid to late 1800’s.  The festival includes striking Chinese dance performances, live music, gold panning for $1000 worth of genuine Nundle gold and around 100 market stalls.  Enjoy free time to enjoy the festivities and explore the many attractions around this delightful town including the Nundle Woollen Mill.  After a fun-filled day return to our accommodation.


Sunday, 17th April:  Put a little ‘country’ in our life today as we explore the history of the country music capital.  Start our day with a stroll along Peel Street to view the statues and bronze plaques which honour various country music greats, then off to visit the Tamworth Marsupial Park to enjoy some time with our native animals and enjoy morning tea.  Then, on to the Galaxy of Stars Museum which features wax figures of Australia’s famous country music stars and display boards that tell their story.  View the excellent display of guitars in the National Guitar Museum which features more than 45 guitars autographed by Australian and International country music icons.  Finish our day with a visit to the Australian Country Music Hall of Fame & Walk a Country Mile which features an unmatched collection of memorabilia from Australian country music artists and depicts Tamworth’s musical history.


Monday, 18th April:  Today we travel the picturesque Waterfall Way with its many magnificent waterfalls and magnificent scenery.  Stop for lunch at the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre and marvel at the panoramic view from the Skywalk.  Continue our journey through the quaint township of Bellingen before arriving at Coffs Harbour.  Stay Opal Cove Resort

Tuesday, 19th April:  All too soon our holiday is almost at an end.  Northward bound, stop at Ballina for a visit to the Ballina Naval & Maritime Museum then on to the RSL for lunch.  Arrive in Brisbane mid-afternoon and in the Wide Bay early evening.
