DAY 1 - HOME to TOOWOOMBA (LD)
Thursday 18th September: Welcome to our five day Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers tour. Meet your friendly crew and fellow travellers and begin our journey, travelling through Brisbane, expressing to Toowoomba. Upon arrival head to Picnic Point Lookout for lunch. Perched on the edge of the Great Dividing Range it provides an amazing view of the Lockyer Valley and Tabletop Mountain. Enjoy lunch here before making our way to the Empire Theatre for a tour. You will get a glimpse of the magnificent heritage listed art deco building, and learn about the history and behind the scenes happenings of a working performing arts complex. Check into our motel.

DAY 2 - TOOWOOMBA (BLD)
Friday 19th September: We welcome a local expert onto the coach this morning to give us an insight into the Carnival of Flowers. The success of establishing and maintaining beautiful gardens comes from the rich, fertile soil, its unique climate and the towns position on the edge of the Great Dividing Range. Next, stop by Laurel Bank Park which provides a majestic oasis with manicured gardens, topiary and many other points of interest. From here head south to our lunch venue at Rudd’s Pub in Nobby. Established in 1893 it was originally called the “Davenport” Hotel. The name was changed to Rudd’s Pub in recognition of Steele Rudd, author of the radio classic Dad and Dave. Before we leave Nobby, visit Sister Elizabeth Kenny Memorial. Sister Kenny had significant world-wide impact on the treatment of polio.

DAY 3 - TOOWOOMBA CARNIVAL OF FLOWERS (BLD)
Saturday 20th September: Following breakfast, make our way to our reserved seats for the 2025 Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers Grand Central Floral Parade. Featuring spectacular floats decorated with live flowers, fitting the chosen theme for the year, plus Bands, Marching Groups and Carnival Characters. There is so much to see and colours to absorb! The parade concludes at Queens Park, where we will have free time to experience the festivities. Then make our way to Cobb & Co Museum. Trace the history of the horse drawn transportation in Australia through an array of interactive displays and exhibits. Enjoy lunch here before continuing on to one of the most beautiful and peaceful parks in Toowoomba, the University of Southern Queensland’s Japanese Garden. Ju Raku En, roughly translating ‘to enjoy peace and longevity in a public place’, has many species of Japanese and Australian native trees and plants.

DAY 4 - TOOWOOMBA (BLD)
Sunday 21st September: This morning travel to Spring Bluff Station where we’ll be in awe as the heritage listed site bursts into colour with a magnificent display of poppies, snapdragons, petunias and many other annuals. After our wander through the station head to Highfields Pioneer Village which features a series of stunning relics, that have been kept in perfect condition for years. Our lunch venue today is The Farmers Arms, the oldest pub in Queensland, first licensed in 1863. This afternoon visit some of the beautiful private gardens that are on show as part of the festival.

DAY 5 - TOOWOOMBA to HOME (B)
Monday 22nd September: Farewelling Toowoomba, begin our return journey. Stop in Gatton for a visit to the Queensland Transport Museum. The museum is home to a magnificent display of transport vehicles with display cabinets brimming with models, and even a fire engine and crop dusting plane. After our visit continue our drive arriving home this afternoon from a fantastic tour.
