Winter Discovery Tour (3 Days)
Friday 27th to Sunday 29th June 2025
Let’s get away and see what we can get up to for 3 days.
Day 1 – On our way to Warwick we stop for morning tea along the way then head for Watercress Creek Olives & Limes. Here we enjoy a delicious Ploughman’s lunch which includes a variety of in-house products, savoury pastries, breads and crackers plus some local fruit. Afterwards our hosts will show us around their lovely grove and property. Continuing on, our next stop will be at the Ipswich Antique Centre which displays one of the widest ranges of antiques and collectables outside of the Brisbane area. After reminiscing about the old days we head for our accommodation for the next 2 nights. (LD)
Day 2 – The Scenic Rim Food chefs, growers, producers and flavour artisans come together at the “Winter Harvest Festival” to showcase the region’s produce with cooking demonstrations, engaging displays and workshops. Stroll through the many stalls, enjoy tastings, sample local wines and beers and don’t’ forget to just take in the atmosphere. After a morning of meeting the locals it’s time to head to Glengallan Homestead for afternoon tea and a guided tour. This homestead has been restored from the ruins in 2001, so let’s relive the Glengallan story from squattocracy to farmer settlement through an innovative interpretation that allows the place to tell its own story. Day 3 – This morning what animal will you fall in love with while at the Darling Downs Zoo - one of the cats, primates, mammals, reptiles or birds? Heading home now with a stop for lunch along the way. What memories will you come away with! (BL)
